I bought my Rainbow in 1986 not long after my first husband and I built our house. Both of us thought it was absolutely awesome. My husband even wanted to sell them and he did that for a while. I have a different husband now, but the same house and the same Rainbow. I think my husband had to have something on it repaired several years ago, but that is all that's ever been required. It still runs today like it did when it was new. I know there have been a lot of improvements made since 1986, but I can't justify buying another one when this still performs like it's new. Anything that performs that well and that long is top quality in my book. The distributor in my town provided great service when we had the one repair and when we bought new brush attachments. I would give this company and vacuum 10 stars if I could!
So my grandma had a Rainbow in the mid 1980s. She loved it and years later I moved to another state and I remembered her Rainbow when I was looking for a vacuum for my new house. I called Rainbow and bought one. I didn't even want them demo. I bought brand new a gold 2 speed in summer 2006. I never let anyone use it but me. I have 2 cats. I've never had problems with clogs. I'm reading through the reveiws about clogs. I suppose that could happens with an unusually large amount of hair. Anyway, I've used my machine a lot over the years, even to clean the garage floor with the squeegee.
Last year, my rainbow stopped working. I took it to the Rainbow place here in Lexington and they called me and said it was the control board and those models from 2004 to 2009 had a lot of warranty problems so the company made a much better board, which he installed. He said he's never seen a rainbow as old as mine that clean, even the fans didn't need cleaning. These machines are not for everyone because some people just don't want to deal with the setup, storage. I don't mind it because in the long run I don't have to clean as often.

I have a cleaning service so I have seen and used many, many vacuums over the years and spent much money doing so. I have never had anything that cleans as thoroughly as the Rainbow. It’s way more than a vacuum. The fact that it is also a house purifier, capable of purifying the air of 3,000 sq ft in 30 minutes is incredible. It has helped my children with their allergies by keeping the air clean. I have unclogged drains with it as well. The carpet shampooer and the mop and brush for scrubbing floors is a time saver and it really works.
I would rather pay more for something that is good quality and works than buy many vacuums, shampooers etc that I end up throwing out. What vacuum has ever done all of these things? None. Honestly I refer to it as a rainbow system. The incentive rainbow offers works, you can literally get your rainbow for free. Plus the capability of getting the extra attachments free. It comes with an incredible warranty. They are built to last. I have friends that have had rainbows for 20 yrs or better.
I purchased system a month ago. I rate my sales person as a 5 star. She gave a thorough demonstration of the system and what it could do, did not try to pressure me into enrolling in the program to earn a free system when I declined, did not pressure me to purchase the night of the demonstration, returned my texts promptly while I negotiated my contract terms. The SYSTEM is amazing. I have used every tool that has come with it and my 60 year old house is clean and fresh. While it is bulky and not for someone only interested in hitting the high spots, if you want one machine that can truly do it all this one is it. It works on water and HEPA filtration, so the water tank has to be cleaned out after each use, and reset with fresh sanitizer and fragrance (optional).
The air wash mode sounds like a plane in your house but in 30 Minutes you appreciate the noise as your air is fresh and clean. Running it on the lowest level 24/7 makes a low hum and keeps the air clean in between washes. This one machine replaced my vacuum, my shop vac, my hard floor duster and my hardfloor power cleaner as well as my Rug shampooer. I haven’t used the broom in a month! A closet full of machines reduced down to a shelf of accessories. Yes it is pricey. But worth every penny of the purchase price. Totally sold on this machine.
I have used and owned MANY vacuums in my 50 years of life. We received the in-home demonstration for the Rainbow with no intention of buying, but planning to enjoy the free room air purifier. The cleaning this machine offers is far SUPERIOR to anything I have ever seen or used! The unit doesn't utilize a bag to trap the dirt, but water, and I've never seen a clean like it. An added bonus in that it freshens the air in your home as it cleans. The retail price is high, nearly $3000.00, but they offer incentives and discounts. There is a 15-year warranty standard on the machine, but I personally know people that have had their vacuum for over 25 years and it still works as well as the day they bought it! When it comes to vacuums it is best to choose quality of quantity, so choose Rainbow!
Breathe better and sleeping better within one night. I noticed a change in air quality! It is fantastic! Especially with myself having asthma and having a dog in the home. I am beyond glad to have ventured out to see what the Rainbow can do! Better health!
The demonstration shown was amazing. We had no intention of buying the product but was convinced once shown. We have enjoyed the vacuum so far and it does a much better job than other brands. Air quality in the home has definitely improved.
First off, I’m not one to write bad reviews. At all. I usually only ever give 5 stars unless the situation really warrants less. This. this warrants much less than even the 1 star I have to give. This vacuum was fantastic the first month or two we owned it. Then things went downhill. Our horse hair bristle brush BROKE. We now have it tied together with rubber bands just so we can vacuum our hardwood. The hinges stopped working where the water bowl goes so you better hope you’re good at multitasking so you can get the water bucket in place while also holding up the heavy top. Several other broken pieces that we are now being told we have to pay for, because that’s not covered under warranty.
Now, let’s get into the clogging problem with the big attachment. I can vacuum ONE rug and it’s completely clogged and shoots dust EVERYWHERE. We have 2 dogs. Not an abundance of dogs, just two. It shouldn’t be clogged after one rug. You have to stop and clean the attachment out after each rug or room or you’ll continuously have this issue.
We are now recently having suction issues. Yesterday it wouldn’t even suck up a FEATHER. The rep asked me if it the hose was clogged. The answer to that. no. I clean it very regularly. The hose gets sprayed out with the outside (very powerful) water hose each use. No. It’s not “clogged” but dang skippy that large carpet attachment still is no matter how well you clean it.
The kicker of the whole thing, you can’t return it. You can’t do anything with it. You’re stuck with that payment. They completely screw you up, down, to the east and west. It’s messed up and a horrendous product. Oh and guess who has to pay for any repairs!? I DO. You pay $4000 for a VACUUM and they take even more money from you when their ** product fails you in every single way. Stay away from Rainbow. Just save yourself the trouble, time, and definitely money. I wish I would have.
I hosted a demo of the vacuum system for a friend and agreed to do their 12 demos 2 sales program. First of all, let me start by saying my rep is very nice, but she is located 3 hours away from me. This makes scheduling demos hard as she wants me to spend my ENTIRE weekend with her at people's houses demoing the product. Second, to 'qualify' as a true demo towards your 12, you have to only contact couples who own their homes. Single homeowners, or renters won't qualify if they do not purchase the product.
Third, they check all of your appointments through county tax records to verify if they are owners or not. If they can't find proof, they ask you to provide court documents or some other proof of their ownership. This is not only shady but incredibly invasive. Fourth, I have just been notified that they are canceling one of my appointments because they won't allow the rep to travel to me for one appointment who is not "qualified" by their standards. Not even giving her a chance to see if she wants to purchase or not. They are just writing her off.
Fifth, they tell you that if they cancel an appointment, they will count it as one of your 12. That will be tested tomorrow when I call to complain. Sixth, I was told that the north office could pass me over to the office in my area, but they don't want to lose credit for the sale! While the machine is amazing, the way to get it 'free' is NOT worth the hassle. They make it look and sound so easy in the moment, but it is anything BUT easy. All of their stipulations make it almost impossible to complete.

O'Sullivan Lake is located deep in the wilderness of northern Ontario, Canada. This magnificent deep cold water lake is fourteen by seven miles and is connected to an additional eight miles of rivers, creeks, rapids, and a three and a half mile lake called Superb for your angling or exploring pleasures.
UNBELIEVABLE STRUCTURE
O’Sullivan Lakes structure is compounded by over one hundred islands dotting its horizon, depths in excess of one hundred & sixty feet, miles of rugged shoreline, deep bays, shoals, and weed beds. This unique watershed is ideal for the multi-specie fishery it supports. Fifteen thousand acres of prime spawning and structured fish habitat. A depth finder is essential on this lake.
THE SPICE OF FISHING, VARIETY
O’Sullivan Lake & surrounding waters have all the right ingredients to produce some of the finest Trophy waters of Northern Ontario. Six varieties of game fish have made these waters just about as flexible as inland lakes can get. Imagine fishing for Walleye, Lake Trout, Perch, Northern Pike, Whitefish, and the elusive Brook Trout, all in one day! No portaging, or dragging of boats needed. CABIN ACCOMMODATIONS & CAMPING FACILITIES
We have nine cabins at the main resort, two of these cabins are deluxe 2 bedroom units with full washroom and both sleep eight. Cabins one through six comfortably sleep 4 and the remaining cabin sleeps eight. We also have four lakeside camp sites (no electric hook up). All cabins have decks with a view of O'Sullivan Lake. Our central washrooms and showers are private, sparkling clean and conveniently situated throughout the camp. All cabins are fully equipped for housekeeping, which include running water, electric fridge, gas range, gas heater, propane barbecue, electric lights as well as cooking utensils and bed linens. We operate by generator, due to our remote wilderness but our power operates 24 hrs. a day. Sorry, No Pets
DUNN'S ISLAND OUTPOST CABIN
This outpost is located on a remote island five miles from the main camp and is accessible by boat only. We will assist you in getting to the island and returning if necessary. The cabin is nestled amongst trees with a sand beach in front of the cabin and surrounding most of the island. Fish cleaning table and floating docks. Nearby the variety of depths and structure offer some of the finest fishing on the lake for all species. The camp is fully equipped for housekeeping and includes a propane stove, refrigerator, gas lights, gas barbecue, oil heater, dishes, pots, pans and bunk beds. The camp will accommodate up to six people.

Our central washrooms and showers are private, sparkling clean and conveniently situated throughout the camp. All cabins are fully equipped for housekeeping, which include running water, electric fridge, gas range, gas heater, propane barbecue, electric lights as well as cooking utensils and bed linens. We operate by generator, due to our remote wilderness but our power operates 24 hrs. a day. Sorry, No Pets
DUNN'S ISLAND OUTPOST CABIN
This outpost is located on a remote island five miles from the main camp and is accessible by boat only. We will assist you in getting to the island and returning if necessary. The cabin is nestled amongst trees with a sand beach in front of the cabin and surrounding most of the island. Fish cleaning table and floating docks. Nearby the variety of depths and structure offer some of the finest fishing on the lake for all species. The camp is fully equipped for housekeeping and includes a propane stove, refrigerator, gas lights, gas barbecue, oil heater, dishes, pots, pans and bunk beds. The camp will accommodate up to six people.
